TAS Transport takes Euro 6 T range Renault trucks 07 October 2013

Heathrow airport-based international haulage firm TAS Transport has placed one of the first UK orders for a new Euro 6 T range tractor unit from Renault Trucks.

The T460 6x2 tractor with sleeper cab will be delivered in January 2014, through Renault Trucks distributor Norfolk Truck and Van – making it the fourth Renault truck to join TAS's 50-strong, predominantly Mercedes-Benz fleet since it took its first Renault Premium in May this year.

The company is also going for Renault Trucks' two year R&M contract package and its Fuel Eco package, including Optifleet telematics and Optifuel driver training – provided free on orders placed before the end of 2013.

"We have been very impressed with fuel consumption and have seen an increase in mpg," says Terry Stevens, managing director of TAS Transport of his existing Renault Premiums.

"However, we are even more excited about the fuel returns promised with the new Range T. Plus, with the addition of the Optifleet telematics system, driver training and Fuel Eco Pack benefits that come with the truck, we are hoping to make further savings," he continues.

"Once we have had the new Renault T460 on the road for a few months we are looking to purchase two more trucks. We definitely see a future with Renault and, when the time comes, we will look to replace our rigid trucks with Renaults as well as the tractor units."

The new truck will undertake long-distance operations with the Palletways network.
