Darlington-based Durham Tees Valley Training (DTVT), which specialises in providing training to the transport industry, has taken on two specialist Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) trainers. Graeme Todd and Michael Robinson are both responsible for delivering CPC training for both PCV and LGV drivers.

Des Bourne has been appointed managing director, operational services, for Atkins' Highways & Transportation (H&T) business. Bourne joins the company's H&T senior leadership team with immediate effect.

Mike Ball retired from Volvo Bus on 31 January 2012, having worked for the company for 25 years. Ball's most recent role was at a strategic level at Volvo Bus Corporation's Europe division. Prior to that, he headed up the UK operation for 10 years from 1997.

Ian Forster has joined Continental Tyre Group as truck sales manager, while Neil Davies has been promoted to national fleet key account manager.

Formerly director for fleet and commercial vehicle operations at Renault UK, Darren Payne has been promoted to sales director. The role covers the whole range of vehicles from the French manufacturer.

Syed Ziaullah has been named CEO of APC Overnight, following the recent retirement of managing director Ivor Skinner. Ziaullah has been the company's operations director since January 2008 and will lead a recently restructured senior management team.

BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions has appointed two new area sales managers to its commercial vehicles division. Andy Bowyer will operate in the north, and Ian Swindell will be responsible for the Midlands.
