Tracey Horton has joined Gates as district sales manager for the Midlands, Wales and East Anglia. Her major product lines include drive systems (kits, belts, tensioners, specialist tools), fuel systems (hoses, adapters and couplings) and cooling systems (thermostats, hoses, radiator caps). The appointment is part of a move to strengthen Gates' sales force ahead of changes announced by Gates late last year. She is based in the Midlands and reports to Nick Racklyeft, regional sales manager, UK and Ireland.

Tony Ward is moving to engineering director for bus and coach operator Arriva London, from engineering director at Arriva Southern Counties, having been in post since 2001. He was formerly fleet engineer with Arriva Fox County. Brian Barraclough, will be taking up the position of regional engineering director for Arriva the Shires and Southern Counties.

Sam Greer has been named Stagecoach UK Bus' regional director for Scotland. Currently managing director of Stagecoach West Scotland, Greer has more than 26 years' experience in the bus industry, will take over from the retiring Tom Wileman on 1 May 2010. In his new role, Greer will have overall responsibility for all of Stagecoach's Scottish bus operations including Stagecoach Highland, Bluebird, Strathtay, Fife, West Scotland and the Scottish Citylink Joint Venture.
President of DAF Trucks NV, Aad Goudriaan, has decided to pursue a career outside the industry. His position will be filled from 1 April by Harrie Schippers, who has nearly 25 years of experience within the company. In that time, Schippers has held financial positions in operations, marketing and sales and business economics, and has been group controller. Schippers' most recent position was director of finance.
