Baker, 33, now progresses to the European version of the competition, which he won in 2016, taking place in April in Eindhoven.
At the UK final on 12 February, Baker beat seven other technicians to the top spot, winning the coveted trophy and the £1,500 first prize.
The competition was open to DAF’s master and advanced technicians, with submissions scrutinised from across the dealer network before a shortlist of eight finalists was drawn-up.
Nigel Beckett, DAF Trucks aftersales director, said that Baker had proved “he is an extremely talented technician, problem-solver and communicator.
“He remains on course for perhaps another win at DAF’s European Technician of the Year, but, moreover, he is assured a highly successful career in the service and aftersales business,” he added.
