Ainscough Crane Hire specifies heavy haulage MAN trucks13 June 2013

Crane hire and contract lifting firm Ainscough Crane Hire has bolstered its MAN heavy haulage truck fleet with two 150-tonne TGX 26.540 6x4 tractor units, each with XLX cabs.

This latest delivery takes Aincough's MAN fleet to 40 trucks, with an additional two on order. In a separate development, due to an increase in operational requirements, Ainscough has extended the use of two existing leased MANs that were due for return.

"Our relationship with MAN has enabled us to adapt our tractor units with heavy-duty, fully oscillated fifth-wheel couplings, tailored diff ratios and higher ground clearance chassis, providing improved access on difficult site conditions," states Ainscough's engineering director, Steve Cooke.

"This, combined with MAN's advanced telematics system, enables us to move our cranes around the UK both cost effectively and with the least inconvenience to other road users," he continues.

"MAN Fleet Management has provided us with critical information on the operation of the vehicle, providing an essential tool to manage and improve fuel efficiency."
