DAF’s Tony Pain set to retire 26 June 2013

Tony Pain, 63, DAF's long-term charismatic marketing director, is to retire from the company later this year.

"After 45 years with Leyland, Leyland DAF and DAF, Tony has decided that he has probably learnt enough about the truck market, so it is with some sadness that I have to announce that Tony will retire on Friday 4 October 2013," states Ray Ashworth, Managing Director of DAF Trucks.

"Tony is recognised as one of the most knowledgeable people in the truck industry, not only by his colleagues at DAF but also by the media, dealers, customers and even competitors," he continues.

"His expertise and contribution will be greatly missed. I am sure that you will all join me in wishing Tony a long and relaxing retirement."

Phil Moon has now been appointed marketing manager for all DAF's affairs. Moon, formerly with Foden, has been product marketing manager at DAF for eight years.
