Diesel engine oil promises mixed fleet rationalisation 04 February 2014

British oils firm Morris Lubricants has launched a commercial engine oil that, it says, gives huge potential for rationalisation across mixed truck fleets involving several engine technologies.

Eco-Syn 10W-40 is described as a top-tier, heavy-duty, diesel-specific engine oil designed to meet the chemical limits required to maintain the efficiency of current DPF (diesel particulate filters), SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) systems.

The Shrewsbury-based company says its low SAPS (sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur) additive technology, coupled with synthetic base fluids, also ensures good protection and cleanliness for vehicles operating in severe conditions with extended drain intervals.

Eco-Syn 10W-40 is designed for use in Euro 4, 5 and 6 diesel engines where an oil of this quality is specified. It can also be used in combination with low sulphur diesel fuel (maximum 50ppm).
