Ford Tourneo Custom van for GOSH British Gas swimathon 31 May 2013

Ford has supplied British Gas with one of its new Ford Tourneo Custom vans for the summer, where it will be used in the Swims Britain challenge to raise £1 million for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

The challenge aims to encourage thousands of the energy company's staff and their families to take part in swimming events across the UK.

The aquatic-themed Ford Tourneo Custom – a long wheelbase model – is powered by a Dagenham-built 125PS 2.2-litre TDCi diesel engine, and has been fitted with nine seats, a 230-volt power converter and Ford's satellite navigation system.

"This is a fantastic challenge to be associated with and Ford is proud to support the charity's worthy cause," comments Ford of Britain fleet director Phil Hollins.

British Gas recently added 520 new Ford Transit vans to its fleet, opting, it says, for the van, due to its class-leading economy and low emissions.
