Northern Structures builds up fleet with Mercedes Citans18 November 2015

Steel building fabricator Northern Structures has taken delivery of four more Mercedes-Benz Citan vans, after its first delivery of Citans delivered fuel savings and reliability.

The Northumberland-based company was one of the first in the area to take delivery of Mercedes-Benz Citans from dealer Bell Truck and Van, after the model’s launch in 2013.

Bell Truck and Van has also supplied the latest additions, all 109 CDI long versions with 90bhp diesel engines.

Northern Structures’ managing director Anthony Nelson says the Citans are “a step ahead”. He adds: “They are finished to a higher standard and, in terms of reliability, have proved to be far superior.

“The fuel and ongoing maintenance costs are also highly competitive so that, compared to the vehicles we were running previously, our outgoings have been slashed.”

The Citans join the operator’s 11-strong fleet, which includes Sprinters.

Vehicles are serviced overnight by the dealer – “a huge benefit”, says Nelson.
