Rivus has confirmed it will not renew its customer partnership with BT as part of a plan to focus on its independently owned garage network.

Victoria Knight, Interim CEO at Rivus, said: “As a business we have recognised that over-reliance on a single customer is high risk, and by diversifying that commercial risk, we can achieve a more sustainable business model for us to grow our business further and continue to deliver great service to our customers. We are therefore not renewing our customer partnership with BT once it expires on 30 September 2023.”

“This is a natural evolution for Rivus following our divestment from BT in 2019, having spent the last four years understanding our strengths as a standalone business. This will increase our garage capacity and capability so we can now deliver improved SMR services to our existing customers, as well as deliver our award-winning services to more mission critical fleets in the UK, including our recent new customers, the Metropolitan Police Service and gas network SGN.”

Rivus has an independently owned garage network of 78 light commercial vehicles and heavy goods vehicles garages. The business has capacity to manage more than 120,000 vehicle assets and delivers over 500,000 SMR (vehicle service, maintenance and repair) events through its network every year. By improving capacity through its garage network in this way, the business believes it can help relieve some of the pressures that fleet operators are feeling, given current pressures on the UK’s external SMR garage network.

Victoria Knight concluded: “The improvements we are making to our garage capacity come at a time when there is considerable pressure on the external garage network, which we believe will greatly increase in the months to come. We wish BT and Holman every success in their newly formed partnership.”

The customer partnership with BT will expire on 30 September.
