SRC Aggregates orders another 10 Charlton Superlites 24 March 2015

SRC Aggregates has ordered another 10 Euro 6 Scania 410bhp 8x4 tipper chassis with Charlton all-steel SuperLite tipper bodies.

"This tipper body just takes everything in its stride," comments Clint Layzell, commercial manager of the Great Dunmow, Essex-based operator.

"While the majority of the work our trucks do is taking out aggregates, we also have to accommodate backloads that can be anything from muckaway to demolition materials," he explains.

"What we want is one tipper body that can handle the lot, and with a good payload potential too. For us, it's the SuperLite."

For Layzell, part of the deal is also about providing high-quality, reliable service – which means having "an up to date fleet of high-productivity" trucks.

"Right now, the fleet is busier than ever, so reliability and performance are everything."

SRC's tippers tare off at 12,700kg, giving a payload of 19,300kg. And with their smooth, single-piece sides and curved floor, the SuperLite bodies help prevent dirt build-up by making routine cleaning quick and easy.
