Former Iveco boss Chris Thornycroft-Smith has been appointed non-executive director at fast-growing transport bio-LNG and LNG (liquefied natural gas) manufacturer and supplier Gasrec. He brings more than 40 years' experience in the transport sectors, not only with Iveco in the UK and Eire, but also previously Leyland DAF and more recently the FTA (Freight Transport Association) and Modec Electric.
Jeremy Smith is Citroën UK's new head of commercial vehicles and business sector operations. He was formerly head of sales programmes for Citroën in the UK, and takes over from Scott Michael, who is leaving Citroën to join Motability Operations as conversions and adaptations relationship manager. European commercial vehicle parts and workshop equipment trader, Europart is filling key posts within its German sales and key account management, with Olaf Giesen joining the sales team while Thomas Hensel handles international business. Hankook Tyre UK sales director Barrie Horrocks has died following his recent battle against cancer. Horrocks made a significant contribution to the growth of the company during 12 years' of service with the brand. He had more than 26 years experience in the tyre industry. Motor Wheel Service Distribution has appointed Kim Blissett to the role of business and marketing coordinator. Reporting to managing director John Ellis, she is now tasked with keeping truck and trailer operators abreast of the wheel safety activity in the UK and Europe, as well as promoting the Chevron stamp, which assists operators in choosing quality steel wheel products while aiding traceability. Blackburn-based dealership Ciceley Commercials principal Mike Lewis has received the Mercedes-Benz dealer of the year award from former F1 driver David Coulthard at a ceremony at Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands, Surrey. Ciceley's dealership area extends across Cumbria, Lancashire and south-west Scotland, and it was awarded the prize for consistently outperforming standard dealership requirements, according to Mercedes. Adam Cafe has joined Jungheinrich UK's sales team as event hire manager. With more than 13 years' experience in the event and exhibition sector, he will co-ordinate sales of Jungheinrich fleet trucks for next day delivery anywhere in the UK.
