Due to retirement, we are seeking to recruit a highly technical Chief Engineer. Our engineering department is undergoing a period of development and cultural change in order to ensure that it is fit for the challenges of the future. We are looking for a strong, effective leader who will be key in developing and delivery the Engineering departments vision and strategy led by the Engineering Director. As a senior manager in this strategic role you will play a significant part in contributing and driving through change in line with the drive for ‘continuous improvement’. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility of our fleet and in ensuring compliance of engineering standards and legislation within the business.
This is an exciting opportunity that will afford you the opportunity to establish a standalone engineering centre of excellence that will involve project managing the concept, establishment and generation of our centralised maintenance and accident repair facility. You will also be responsible for developing our staff by way of training within engineering, the engineering apprentice scheme and monitoring the maintenance of standards through auditing. Experience of working in a multi-discipline role will therefore be an advantage.

You will ideally hold a CPC and have been a Transport Manager with experience in managing large fleets, ideally in the PSV industry. The ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the principles of asset management utilizing the whole life cycle model is essential.
