The Group employs over 650 staff in various business units throughout the UK with 50 directly employed within the Group's fleet engineering facilities. The fleet consists of over 260 vehicles, 580 road trailers and 1,000 containers.
The Russell Group is recruiting for the position of Engineering Manager to join the team and play a key role in the management of our workshops, fabrication and VOSA facilities. Based in West Central Scotland, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the professionalism and cost effectiveness of the Group's long term fleet maintenance strategy, as well as expanding existing third party maintenance.
Key Requirements:-
• Qualified Engineer and a member of a relevant and recognised trade association such as IRTE, with experience of supporting dedicated fleet operations and third party customers and of working with a wide variety of vehicles, trailer types, diesel and plant engineering, hydraulics and auto electrics.
• Detailed understanding of the Goods Vehicle Testers Manual and knowledge of the related supporting legislation.
• Demonstrable experience of relevant UK Operator Licensing legislation, preferably CPC in National / International Road Haulage Operations.
• Strong understanding of the Health and Safety aspects of road haulage engineering
• Excellent people management, communication and influencing skills.
• To demonstrate credibility and strategies to successfully deliver change.
• Able to interpret financial and non-financial information and work within budget.
• Excellent scheduling and planning skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills.
• LGV C+E Driver Licence preferable.
