Key Accountabilities
• Service and repair of vehicles and plant items to customer specification
• Inspecting and preparing vehicles to VOSA test standards
• Use of brake testing and exhaust emissions testing equipment
• Use of brake profiling and wheel balancing equipment
• Use of machinery in association with the repair and maintenance of vehicles and plant
• Use of diagnostic equipment to aid in repair of faults and breakdowns
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Experience of vehicle service & repair
Experience in inspection and preparation of vehicles for test
Time Served Motor Vehicle Engineer
Driving Licence
Vehicle diagnostic skills
Desirable:
Experience in full range of light and heavy commercial vehicles
Experience in full range of Passenger carrying vehicles
Experience in Plant & Equipment
City & Guilds part 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject
Achieved or Working towards NVQ Level III
IRTEC Licence
Welding, Auto Electrical & Hydraulic skills
VOSA Nominated vehicle tester
LGV Licence / PCV Licence
