The IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers) professional sector of SOE is seeking an engineer to promote and develop their irtec Licensing Scheme and Workshop Accreditation Initiative.
irtec Licensing Scheme: irtec is a voluntary and recognised safety and competence qualification for vehicle technicians working in the LGV and PCV sectors. The irtec License complements most national technical qualifications and objectively demonstrates technicians' skills and knowledge are up-to-date.
IRTE Workshop Accreditation Scheme: This scheme accredits workshops that have met the quality standards set by IRTE. This is a voluntary scheme that requires an annual review and will provide the workshop recognition that their service delivery has been verified as meeting the industry recognised standard.
Skills: An understanding of engineering and its related disciplines, ability to negotiate at all levels, provide an account management function, secure business opportunities in a timely manner and exercise attention to detail. Working knowledge of IT systems is essential.
The individual: The ideal candidate will be a Registered Engineer with an interest in business development opportunities preferably with a road transport background.
Remuneration: The role will be subject to a predetermined daily rate and an outcome related fee based on achievement in a given time frame. Hours of work will be subject to negotiation.
