£50,000 Clugston fuel island upgrade goes live

Clugston Distribution has commissioned a new £50,000 fuel island at its Scunthorpe HQ, all engineered by Cameron Forecourt.

The new facility, which includes a W&M (weights and measures) approved system, allows Clugston not only to provide fuel to its own fleet, but also to resell fuel to linked businesses, such as Clugston’s subcontractors.

Clugston’s new resale refuelling island has four C Series Pumptronics road diesel fuel pumps and two Cameron Eclipse fuel management units providing live data to the web-based fuel monitoring system.

This enables Clugston to monitor fuel stock live, witnessing transactions as they happen, while also accessing reports on tank status.

Other equipment installed includes more than 200 metres of pipework, with leak detection monitors in the underground trench leading to the fuel islands,

“The future savings and added benefits provided by the Eclipse web-based fuel management system made Cameron Forecourt the logical choice for our Scunthorpe headquarters,” comments David Heath, head of logistics at Clugston Distribution.

“The Cameron Forecourt on-site team maintained a high safety standard throughout the build programme, which fits in well with Clugston’s safety ethos,” he continues.

“We were very satisfied with the professional job that Cameron Forecourt did during the rebuild.”

Heath says the new pumps are dispensing at twice the speed of itsearlier system.
