Abnormal loads: have your say

Operators who transport abnormal loads are being invited to have their say with a new forum, established to develop an industry code of practice.

The Abnormal Loads Cross Industry Forum is headed by the Road Haulage Association’s Ray Engley, with support from the Heavy Transport Association, Freight Transport Association and other interested organisations.

The plan, it says, is to consider all aspects of the industry, including movement notification procedures, the response of police and structure owners, compliance and enforcement. Operators, too, are being encouraged to participate in the review process.

RHA’s Engley is the Forum’s co-ordinator: he can be reached by email at r.engley@rha.uk.net.
