Supplied by dealer Imperial Commercials in Worcester, the Evesham-based operator’s new additions bring the proportion of DAF vehicles in its fleet to more than 80%, and their arrival coincides with the company’s move to a new £5 million distribution centre and cold-store.
AIM Logistics director Ismail Elmagdoub says that DAF’s whole-life proposition made the choice “a no-brainer”.
He adds: “We can purchase four new DAFs for the same cost as three from another well-known premium brand and, with consistent fuel returns of between 10 and 11mpg on mixed work and outstanding back-up from Imperial Commercials, it’s small wonder DAF now makes up the majority of the fleet.
“Compared to the rest, DAF’s whole-life costs are better by a country mile.”
Elmagdoub adds that the high-spec DAF tractors help to retain and attract drivers, with AIM fitting the XFs with SuperSpace cabs, Durabrite wheels, Kelsa Lite Bars and more.
