Bevan delivers for BuildStation

Essex-based builders’ merchant BuildStation has taken delivery of its second Renault vehicle with bodywork by Bevan Group.

BuildStation was launched less than a year ago and its first vehicle, a 26-tonne Range C2300 320 6x2 truck with tag axle, has been in constant use since its arrival six months ago.

Like its predecessor, the second truck was supplied by dealer Norfolk Truck & Van, of Enfield, but the latest addition is an 18-tonne Range C2300 250 4x2 on air suspension. Both are on contract hire from BRS.

Bevan fitted both vehicles with split dropside bodies, along with its patented Safe-T-Drop system, to minimise risk of falls from height. The Safe-T-Drop rails can be easily folded away for loading and unloading. The dropsides can only be closed with the Safe-T-Drop rails in place, ensuring correct use of the rails at all times.

The trucks are also fitted with sub-frames for their rear-mounted, radio remote-controlled HMF 1420 14-tonne/metre cranes, which work with Kinshofer brick and block grabs. They are also equipped with HMF’s electronic vehicle stability (EVS) system, which calculates the counterweight potential of the load.

Vittorio Scoglio, Buildstation’s Romford branch manager, says both trucks are “exceptionally well built and perfectly specified for the job”.

He adds: “Bevan’s Safe-T-Drop rails are a particularly impressive safety feature.”
