A mix of racing car and aircraft technology, the Bloodhound SSC is 13.4m long and weighs 7.5 tonnes. The two front wheels sit within the body; the two rear wheels are mounted externally within wheel fairings.
When it makes its world record attempt in South Africa, the car will be powered by both a jet engine and a rocket, together producing more than 135,000 horsepower – six times the combined power of all the Formula 1 cars on a starting grid.
Tristan Johnston, Totalkare sales and marketing manager, says: “We have been involved with this project for a few years now, and to finally see our lifts in action lifting the Bloodhound SSC is great.
“We wish the Bloodhound SSC team the best of luck for their UK testing and for the actual land speed record attempt, which is planned for next year.”
