Available for drum and disc brakes, BPW says Eco Air is suitable for both on and limited off-road operation, and has a “substantial” weight saving over its predecessor – when combined with the new TS2 ECO disc brake, it can save 27kg on a tri-axle suspension.
Available in the UK from next month, Eco Air is constructed with a patented, high-tech laser production process, which combines its typical clamped modular air suspension mounting with round axle beams. This three-dimensional laser profile, etched on the bottom of the casting interface, is said to ensure a positive location with less clamping force.
Eco Air will carry a ‘digital DNA’ for the product lifespan, according to BPW – as well as production data, this will carry all servicing data, such as spare parts lists or service manuals which can be called up using the QR code on the axle.
