The new refrigeration units are being mounted on a mix of Montracon and Gray & Adams trailers, including 73 13.6m, standard length trailers and 10 14.6m LSTs (longer semi-trailers).
The LSTs will be part of the Department for Transport's ongoing 10-year trial of longer articulated goods vehicles.
"Our fleet is on the road 365 days a year, so we're focused on eliminating unexpected fleet downtime," states Mark Matkin, Culina's group fleet manager.
"In the rare event that we do have a problem with one of our units, it's paramount that we get it fixed and back on the road as soon as possible," he continues – adding that the support offered by Carrier's service partner network was one of the main reasons Culina chose Carrier Transicold.
"Also key to securing this order was the proven performance of the Vector 1550 units," states Matkin.
The Vector units are covered by an eight-year everCold service, maintenance and repair contract. It also gives Culina 24/7 access to Carrier's new oneCALL emergency assistance service.
The units will be integrated with Culina's fleet telematics solution, giving the operator access to temperature-critical information at any point in the journey.
