The operator has three feed mills and 32 stores, and is anticipating improved fuel efficiency, lower fleet mileage and better driver performance from the new technology.
The system will include Microlise’s Fleet Performance and Journey Management products. The latter will give Carrs Billington a real-time view of its fleet versus planned routes, alerting the transport team to any potential missed time slots.
The operator is anticipating that driver performance monitoring will deliver better fuel performance and reduced wear and tear to vehicles.
“We have an ambitious target to deliver increased fuel efficiencies and to support driver performance,” says Phil Rothera, national distribution manager for Carrs Billington, adding that once the initial improvements are realised, the company is planning to invest in more technological support for its drivers.
