Trailer manufacturer Cartwright is for the first time building new trailers for its rentals fleet – driven by record growth in the rentals division—and adding longer semi-trailers (LSTs) into the mix, with a choice of double deck or standard.
Paul Burn, Cartwright Rentals sales director, says 150 trailers will be built in the first quarter of 2014. "We will be building these new trailers specifically for our Rentals customers and the availability of LSTs for rent is probably a first in the industry."
The new trailers will include tall, straight frame curtainsiders with 3.1m aperture through the side, built to full EN 12642XL specification. These are typical of the specification now popular with automotive industry customers – a key growth market for Cartwright, says Burn.
The 150 trailers being built will also include fixed- and moving double-deck curtainsiders, and fixed- and moving-deck box vans, some of which will have two-tier tail lifts. Double deck refrigerated trailers will also feature.
"I am confident that there will be good growth for the Cartwright Rentals division next year and the growth will come from the double deck market, which is continuing to grow year on year by between 10—15%," poredicts Burn.
"We also see major growth in EN 12642XL specification orders."
