A guide aimed at simplifying the specification of steel wheels for commercial vehicles has been published by Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD).
Covering commercial truck, trailer, bus and coach operators, the MWSD Chevron Quality Steel Wheels Product Information booklet steers customers through the advantages of each wheel design, along with load and fitting information.
The Chevron range is broken into three tiers. Gold is a premium brand for OEM manufacturers and operators seeking exact replacements. Silver covers mid-range aftermarket alternatives offering excellent quality and performance. And bronze are dependable budget wheels.
John Ellis, managing director of Motor Wheel Service Distribution, says that gold and silver ranges have been extensively fatigue tested using an LBF machine designed to accurately simulate real world operating conditions. They also carry the TüV quality mark.
"Choosing the right wheel is something even experienced operators can find difficult," states Ellis
"The new guide is designed to make the process as easy as possible, with the advantages of each wheel carefully explained and clear," he adds.
