Ciceley spends £100,000 on second truck MoT lane

VOSA Testing
Mercedes-Benz dealer Ciceley Commercials has completed the latest in a series of improvements and extensions to its workshops, spending £100,000 on a second VOSA ATF (Authorised Test Facility) for trucks at its depot in Bolton.
The new ATF at Ciceley's Weston Street site opens today (4 October 2011), and will also cover Class 4, 5 and 7 MoT tests for vans soon – building on its claimed 92% first time pass rate from preparation. Says Bolton service manager Neal Isherwood: "We've always prepared vehicles for MoT testing, but the big advantage to local operators is that they can now get their test carried out in our workshop, without the need for a time-consuming trip to a VOSA site." And he adds: "The fact that we can test trucks while they're with us for routine inspection or maintenance means they spend less time off the road and more time doing their job and earning their keep." Isherwood makes the point that Ciceley offers testing for all makes of truck, as well as public service vehicles and those working under ADR hazardous good regulations. "We've installed a new steel inspection pit, brake and headlight testers and a turning plate," says Isherwood.
