Clancy plants £1.5 million order on Iveco Trakkers

Clancy Plant Hire has placed a £1.5 million order for 23 Euro 6 Iveco Trakker rigids.

Clancy is the UK's largest operator of Iveco Trakker eight-wheelers – it has more than 60 – and the latest order is for 14 replacements and nine additions.

However, Clancy director of plant and transport Bernie Stack says the order was only placed after evaluating several other marques.

"Our research showed us that moving away from Iveco would simply be making a change for change's sake," says Stack.

"The Trakkers offer us competitive whole-life costs, strong residuals and, most importantly, they don't give us any trouble," he adds.

Each vehicle will cover 40,000 miles a year and will remain in service for up to six years.

The new vehicles will be delivered in the second half of this year. Bodybuilding slots have been scheduled with Thompsons and every truck will be mounted with an HMF crane.

They will also be fully compliant with TfL (Transport for London) standards, with bespoke on-board cameras and audible warning systems.
