CLOCS – the Construction Logistics and Cycle Safety scheme – is to exhibit for the first time at the London Bike Show, taking place at London’s ExCeL exhibition centre from 12-15 February.
The CLOCS stand will feature three trucks which, in conjunction with the Met Police, will be used to demonstrate to cyclists the large areas around vehicles in which they are potentially invisible to the driver.
The Met Police's 'Exchanging Places' programme puts cyclists in the driver's seat so they can see and appreciate the blind spots.
CLOCS is planning to put media from the cycle and truck press through the programme, which complements the Safe Urban Driver course where truck drivers are put on bikes.
The London Bike Show attracted 45,000 visitors last year. The CLOCS stand will also promote the work that truck operators and manufacturers are doing to develop safer vehicles.
