The East Lothian-based operator installed an eight-camera system to the vehicles, after a recommendation from another bus company. The cameras work alongside a digital video recorder, allowing up to 30 days’ footage to be recorded.
“We had cameras fitted on a smaller vehicle at first and were so impressed with the quality that we had them fitted on to one of our full-sized buses,” says Ross Prentice, marketing director at Prentice Coaches.
“We are especially pleased with one of the additional features that allows the driver, when indicating left, to see the footage from the outside on the in-cab screen, and see if it is safe to manoeuvre.
“Sentinel’s systems are far more advanced than any we have used before so we would definitely use them again in the future.”
