Acquired following a recent £300,000 contract win, the latest additions bring Corbetts’ fleet to ten artics, three rigids and 25 trailers.
The company decided last year to replace its vehicles every two to three years, to improve fuel performance and maximise fleet uptime.
Corbetts, which specialises in hot dip galvanised parts, says it now collects and delivers 95% of material with its own trucks, with future spend planned for new technologies to enhance driver safety and performance.
Sophie Williams, Corbetts’ finance director, says: “If our client needs material on site at 4am on a Sunday morning we can do that as we manage our own fleet, as well as employing our own drivers. There’s also a cost upside as we can strategically plan routes so that we can offer the best rates.”
