Council bags the benefits with Volkswagen Caddys

Dundee City Council has expanded its small van fleet to 50 with the addition of six new Volkswagen Caddy C20 Trendline vehicles.
The council's entire van fleet now comprises Volkswagen Caddys, which are used by construction and maintenance teams. The new vans were selected after the existing Caddys delivered good performance, reliability and running costs, according to Dundee City Council's Fraser Crichton. The vehicles have been specified with cruise control, rear parking sensors, heated and adjustable door mirrors, as well as Volkswagen's BlueMotion Technology, which helps the fleet meet the council's emission targets. Crichton says the whole life costs are minimised, thanks to vehicle reliability. "The Caddy also comes with a three-year warranty and strong aftersales support that includes a like-for-like replacement scheme," he adds. "This additional support ensures that we are able to keep our maintenance teams on the road even if a problem should occur, or when it comes to routine servicing."
