Crusader Holidays bolsters fleet with Setra coaches

Bus & Coach
Motts Travel-owned Crusader Holidays has bolstered its fleet of 10 coaches with two new Setra vehicles.
The 14 plate Setra 416 GT-HD coaches have been bought to cater for the growing demand for holidays at destinations such as Croatia and St Tropez that require more comfort and entertainment for passengers. The newcomers are both three-axle vehicles with steered rear trailing axle, allowing for greater manoeuvrability and comfort, along with optimised front suspension and electronic ride levelling. Each is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 457 LA Blue Tec, six-cylinder inline Euro 5 engine, delivering 420bhp and 2,100Nm, mated to a Mercedes-Benz GO 210 six-speed manual transmission with an integrated Voith VR 115 E retarder. Both coaches have been equipped with kneeling and ferry lift systems, while brakes are Knorr-Bremse SN 7 pneumatic disc all round with ESP, EBS and Brake Assist, as well as continuous braking limiter. The seats are ergonomically designed with a wide, spacious LED lit stairwell as well as subdued noise level and superior air conditioning and ventilation. "Since the acquisition of Crusader Holidays in 2011, a plan of development and growth has been in place to continue to position the brand as a top name within the coach holiday industry," says Roger Mott, director of Motts Travel and Crusader Holidays. "I am extremely happy to be adding two new vehicles to our fleet. These two coaches, together with the two purchased last year, means we have spent over one million pounds in the last 12 months."
