Cummins Turbo Technologies says it has secured four supply contracts for its Holset turbochargers, which combined are worth in excess of 600 million Euros.
The deals, which are with unnamed major European truck manufacturers, will see Euro 6 emissions-compliant turbocharging equipment entering service with several big brands by the end of this year, according to Cummins executive director for global OEMs Charles Masters.
"The necessity to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions levels means that manufacturers are increasingly looking towards turbocharging technology to help them achieve their goals," he states.
"Advances in turbocharging technology continue to deliver these savings, without compromising engine power, so we are delighted, but not surprised," he adds.
