DAF first to offer all engines to EEV specification

DAF says it is now offering its 6.7 litre Paccar GR-engine and several versions of the 12.9 litre Paccar MX-engine in EEV (enhanced environmentally-friendly vehicle) versions, without the need for DPFs (diesel particulate filters).
EEV-compliant vehicles emit at least 33% less particulates than current Euro 5 emission engines, and DAF is the first truck manufacturer to have its entire engine range available in the ultra-low emission format. What's more, eliminating the DPF "by optimising the engine management system", means a weight advantage of about 30kg, as well as more space on the chassis for installing extra components or larger fuel tanks. Two years ago (spring 2008), DAF was one of the first truck manufacturers to have its entire product range (LF, CF and XF105) available with the EEV emission level option. DAF is now offering the 6.7 litre six-cylinder Paccar GR EEV unit in its LF and CF65 vehicles, with power outputs from 165kW (220hp) to 220kW (300hp). Versions of the 12.9 litre Paccar MX engine in EEV format are the 265kW (360hp) and 300kW (410hp) engines on the DAF CF85. The 300kW (410hp) version is also being offered as EEV on the DAF XF105.
