Under the terms of the three-year contract, Day’s Rental will use Fleet Assist’s nationwide network of more than 5,000 garages to undertake service, maintenance and repair (SMR) work on vehicles supplied to customers across the UK. Additionally, Day’s Rental will use Fleet Assist to provide a vehicle service booking facility to customers thus directing work towards the network.
Since 2009 Day’s Rental has experienced year-on-year growth of 10-15% and has expanded its customer base UK-wide from its South and West Wales heartland. The business presently operates from 10 rental locations with the most recent outlets opening in Avonmouth and Exeter, with further new outlets in the pipeline. It is a sister company to Day’s Fleet.
For Fleet Assist, the deal marks a move into the UK daily rental market, extending its normal business of contract hire and leasing.
Mike McCarry, managing director, Day’s Rental, said: “The company’s expansion outside of South and West Wales necessitated the requirement for a nationwide vehicle SMR function.
“Among the many attractions of using the Fleet Assist network are the service level agreements in place with all network garages that ensure our customers will receive the same level of support across the UK. That commitment gave us the confidence that our vehicles would be maintained in accordance with our own high standards.”
