Double measures for brewery with Isuzu

Stockport-based brewery Frederick Robinson has taken delivery of its first Isuzu vehicle, chosen for its payload and ability to deliver to locations with restricted access.

The Isuzu N75.190 is working locally and regionally, handling deliveries of Robinsons’ ‘Dizzy Blonde’ cask beer and other products to remote pubs in the Lake District and Cumbria, as well as to pubs in Manchester city centre, where commercial vehicle access is equally as limited.

“Up in Cumbria, we used to operate a two-vehicle delivery service to certain remote locations, however the Isuzu can do the job of both these vehicles, making this particular operation far more efficient now,” says Mathew Heath, logistics manager at Frederick Robinson.

Specified with a 4.2m curtainside body, by PPS Commercials, the Isuzu’s performance – as well as payload and manoeuvrability – is proving to be a hit.

“The drivers have commented about the overall performance of the Isuzu, saying that it is a really good vehicle to drive and has plenty of power so that it doesn’t struggle on the hills within Cumbria and the South Lakes,” says Heath.

Supplied by dealer Warrington Vehicle Centre, the Isuzu N75.190 is based at Robinsons Unicorn Packaging Centre in Bredbury, near Stockport. It is expected to be in operation for seven years and cover up to 30,000 miles per annum.

It is supplied with a seven-year R&M contract, with Warrington Vehicle Centre undertaking all service work at weekends to fit in with the operator’s delivery schedules.
