The company believes the lightweight DAFs have allowed it to achieve its next day delivery guarantee.
Based in Alton, Hampshire, and with depots in Coventry and Essex, Drainfast serves much of the Midlands, Central and Southern regions of the UK.
Mark Chambers, marketing manager at Drainfast, said: “We’ve had a lot of interest in our trucks since we applied the wrap. We were looking at a new campaign to celebrate our two decades in business and decided that our fleet of DAFs is the perfect billboard for the company. There’s been a lot of people commenting on how much they like the design and how smart the trucks look, which is great.”
Local dealer Adams Morey supplied the new Drainfast fleet.
Drainfast recently took delivery of four new DAF LF 180s, allowing it to allocate some of its older vehicles to a reserve pool for use during periods of high demand. The fleet, when combined, is able to average around 21 MPG, based on regular urban driving and frequent local deliveries.
With the LFs predominantly carrying plastic parts, Drainfast has been able to opt for lightweight cages, rather than heavier box bodies. Bevans design and fit the customised cages to the chassis, which can be opened completely from both the side and rear for ease of loading six-metre pipework.
