ETI closes off with three HGV emission reports

The Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) has published three final reports relating to HGV emissions, with their release completing ETI’s work ahead of its planned closure earlier this week.

The data and findings are available online – see link below – and include the Heavy-Duty Vehicles Overall Insights report, pictured, which looks at the potential of electric and hydrogen powertrains to meet the mid-term requirements of EU greenhouse gas reduction targets.

The ETI closed on 31 December after 12 years of collaboration between the government, academics and industry to inform the UK’s energy strategy.

“We’re really proud that our research has often been at the vanguard of the UK’s decarbonisation thinking for over a decade,” said Jonathan Wills, ETI CEO.

“I’m pleased that beyond the lifespan of the ETI, our work will continue to support the UK’s efforts to decarbonise with the majority of our data and publications available on our website until 2025.

“Much of our research and the capability we’ve developed across the breadth of the UK energy system will now be taken forward by Energy Systems Catapult and others.”
