Nottinghamshire County Council has taken delivery of its first two ‘provincial’ specification electric buses, which will go into operation from Monday 4 June.
The 10.8m, single-deck BYD ADL Enviro200EV buses have 36 seats and a total passenger capacity of 70.
The £910,000 investment was part funded by OLEV, the government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles.
Speaking on behalf of the BYD ADL partnership, Frank Thorpe, BYD’s UK country manager, said: “We are anticipating many more orders for this now well proven combination of ADL’s stylish bodywork and BYD’s advanced pure electric drivetrain.”
