First seven converters qualify for Ford vehicle modifier scheme

Ford has announced the first seven converters accredited to its Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) programme.

QVM participants must meet high standards of build and quality control, and must prove that conversions follow Ford’s Body and Equipment Mounting Manual (BEMM).

Additionally, they must offer a warranty for the conversion that matches Ford’s own warranty in terms of mileage and duration, and have liability insurance.

The first seven are: Allied Vehicles, of Glasgow; Salisbury-based CoTrim Conversions; CPD Bodies, of Stockton-on-Tees; Newton Abbot-based GM Coachworks; McElmeel Mobility Services, of Armagh; Hull-based Paneltex; and VFS, based in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Between them, they offer wheelchair accessible conversions, taxis, tippers and dropsides, and refrigerated vehicles.

VFS, the first UK converter to be accredited, also provides vehicles for Ford’s One-Stop Shop range. Pictured is the VFS double cab tipper.
