Test and research centre Horiba MIRA has announced that it now has several Real Driving Emissions (RDE) routes approved by Dutch approval authority RDW – the first of their kind in the UK.
The routes have also been approved by the UK’s Vehicle Certification Agency and this means manufacturers have access to a certification partner ahead of new tailpipe emissions regulations coming into force in September 2017.
Alan Warburton, powertrain and emissions lead at Horiba MIRA, says: “We are incredibly proud to be have been awarded full approval from RDW on a number of our RDE routes, which allow us to carry out certification RDE testing on behalf of the Dutch approval authority.”
He adds: “Witnessed RDE tests on a range of vehicles have already been completed and the data submitted as part of the current RDE monitoring phase.”
