Freezerent rates Mercedes-Benz Sprinter as the cool choice

Temperature-controlled vehicle hire business Freezerent has taken delivery of its 100th refrigerated Mercedes-Benz sprinter, citing the vehicle’s performance and appeal to customers as reasons for the deal.

Supplied by dealer Midlands Truck & Van, the Wolverhampton’s latest Sprinter is a new 313 CDI, coverted and fitted with a GAH refrigeration unit by Vantastec, of Ystrad Mynach, near Cardiff.

Previously, Freezerent has acquired approved used 3.5- and 5-tonne Sprinters from the dealership, but recently has chosen to acquire new vehicles and anticipates this continuing for single- and multi-temperature configurations.

Founder and managing director Lee Dorward (pictured) explains: “We’ve certainly tried vans by other manufacturers but they didn’t stand up to the job as well as a Mercedes-Benz. The Sprinter offers outstanding reliability, fuel efficiency and driver appeal, as well as leading the market in terms of its safety features.

“Everyone likes to drive a Mercedes-Benz and when it comes to spot rental in particular, it can help to finalise a deal if the vehicle you’re offering has this high level of quality.

Freezerent’s Sprinters are on Mercedes-Benz Complete Care R&M contracts, including 24-hour emergency roadside assistance, which Dorward says is “far superior” to those provided by other marques.
