Dearman’s zero-emission transport refrigeration system, developed in partnership with Hubbard Products and Air Products, took top spot in the category for innovation in air quality.

There are lots of exciting air quality innovations being developed at the moment, and we faced stiff competition, but we very proud to have been successful.”
The Dearman Engine uses the expansion of liquid nitrogen to provide zero-emission power and cooling. It is being developed for use in applications across transport, logistics and the built environment.
The most advanced, currently, is its transport refrigeration system, which is undergoing operational trials, delivering refrigerated food to stores across London.
Conventional diesel transport refrigeration systems can emit up to 29 times as much PM and six times as much NOx as a modern truck engine. The Dearman alternative emits no NOx, no PM, and offers long-term CO2 savings.
