FreshLinc Distribution has taken delivery of 15 Scania R 440 LA 6x2/4 MNA Topline tractor units on a four-year contract hire agreement.
The agreement for each truck is based on 180,000 kilometres a year, with all work to be carried out by Scania's depot at Spalding.
FreshLinc fleet engineer Andy Marchant says the vehicle specification is ideal for his company's operations, and adds that the Opticruise fully-automated transmission makes driving the new trucks effortless.
"The trucks are all fitted with the latest Scania Euro 5 440 SCR engines, and in terms of operating economy the early indications are extremely positive," says Marchant.
"An additional plus point is that our local Scania depot is almost next door, which means maintenance can be carried out with minimum disruption to our operating schedules," he adds.
