Fresh and frozen produce logistics business Gist is upgrading its entire trailer fleet with the TrailerConnect telematics solution, from Schmitz Cargobull, after “impressive results” from 54 units factory-fitted with the system.
The trailer maker’s service partner network is retrofitting 120 reefers with TrailerConnect, enabling Gist to
remotely monitor the internal temperature, tyre condition and door security of all its refrigerated trailers from a single dashboard.
“We’ve had impressive results from our existing smart trailers, which have been more cost effective to run and easier to maintain,” says Sam de Beaux, engineering director at Gist.
“Schmitz Cargobull’s telematics retrofit service means we can enjoy those benefits across the whole of our fleet – it was not a difficult decision to upgrade our existing assets.”
Schmitz Cargobull launched the TrailerConnect retrofit service last year.
