Goodyear Total Mobility promotional event hits the road

Goodyear will be showcasing the added value of its commercial Goodyear Total Mobility one-stop shop offer in a travelling exhibition.

The initiative invites commercial vehicle operators to experience the advantages of connecting the dots between processes, solutions and services, emphasising the importance of getting the most out of every detail which add up to a more sustainable, efficient and competitive fleet.

Goodyear’s Total Mobility value proposition provides an end-to-end solution designed to support fleets to lower carbon footprint, be more competitive and optimise efficiency in the daily operations. Smart tools such as automated tyre pressure and tread depth monitoring via Goodyear’s CheckPoint (drive-over reader) measure key aspects of tyre health, so drivers and operators can be confident each journey is more efficient and sustainable. Goodyear Total Mobility brings together tyres, solutions and support, maintenance and aftercare, assured by the pan-European Goodyear service network.

Piotr Czyzyk, managing director, Proactive Solutions and Fleet Europe, said: “Last year we announced our strategic collaboration with ZF, together we can further leverage our data-intelligence expertise. For transportation companies, getting straightforward access to key data of the different assets being it tyres, trucks or trailers is an important step forward in easing their digital transformation.”

Goodyear's optimized retreading service is part of Goodyear Total Mobility. In the current environment, rethinking retreading is even more relevant than before. On top of the European climate Fit-for-55 plan, urging to become increasingly greener, the industry is also faced with an increasing cost impact.

According to the Sustainable Reality Survey (https://is.gd/jateya) three out of four fleets recognised carbon footprint reduction as an important issue and 42% of fleets are using retreaded tyres as well as taking other sustainability focused actions.

Marc Preedy, managing director, replacement, for commercial Europe explained: “The survey showed that our customers want to be part of the circular economy, supporting sustainability, yet also driving value for their end-customers."

According to Goodyear, transport companies that use the Goodyear Retreading solutions can cut overall tyre bills by 10% and extend tyre life by an additional 150%. Goodyear Retreading gives tyres multiple lives, being regroovable, retreadable and again regroovable. The offer can be customized to the specific needs.

“The high residual value of the premium Goodyear casing makes this process sustainable from both a financial and environmental perspective.” added Preedy.

In recent months, Goodyear has intensified the collaboration with local casing handling partners. This includes investment in state-of-the art shearography inspection equipment for more accurate non-destructive inspection, which ultimately results in less scrapping and waste.
