Guide launched to steer successful installations of charge points for EVs

Electric Vehicles
A new guide has been published to give businesses practical advice on how to provide charge points for electric vehicles.

The guide, written by Cenex for the UK Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (UK EVSE) Association, explains how to procure the equipment and services needed for such a facility.

The fundamentals for a charge point project, says the guide, come down to the six 'Ps': placement; product and service choice; price; pay-as-you-go billing; project management; and publicity.

Content has been provided by UK EVSE member companies, which include charge point manufacturers, network operators, testing and equipment suppliers, and maintenance providers.

"The guide offers valuable advice on how to avoid the pitfalls that charge point purchasers may otherwise fall into without prior knowledge of the industry," says Myles Barker, technical specialist for Cenex and lead author of the guide.
