Hendrickson launches global Haulmaax suspension

Suspensions
Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems has launched what it describes as a global version of its lower-end Haulmaax rear suspension system – joining its HUV and Ultimaax mid- and higher-weight ranges.
Although hailing from North America, the company makes the point that its design feeds on huge experience with elastomeric engineering serving a demanding heavy-duty trucking industry. Offered in a 21-ton capacity, global Haulmaax has been designed for light weight, durability and driver comfort, focusing on the use of higher strength materials. Hendrickson says that Haulmaax also uses elastomeric bolster springs and a progressive load spring (PLS) that work together to "provide outstanding ride quality", even when trucks are running empty. Matt Joy, vice president and general manager for Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems, explains that as payload increases, the PLS further engages and functions together with the elastomeric bolster springs as they compress to provide the required additional stability. "HUV and Ultimaax ... raised the bar for durability and performance for heavy truck suspensions across the globe," comments Joy. "With the launch of Haulmaax, we're rounding out our offering of superior elastomeric solutions, which continue to provide innovative ride solutions to advance the global commercial transportation industry."
