Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) has awarded a deal for 360 new vans to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles as part of its property maintenance fleet replacement programme.
The fleet replacement programme will see WDH taking 119 vehicles between June and September, with the remaining 126 due between September and December.
The order is for a mix of VW vans, including: Caddy and Caddy Maxi vans; SWB and LWB Transporter panel vans; Crafter panel vans, in a variety of wheelbase options; and Crafter Dropsides and Crafter specialist Dropside conversions.
"The flexibility of the Volkswagen model range has allowed us to customise the vehicles to meet our exact needs," says Rick Young, fleet manager at WDH.
"We have been able to identify the exact models we required, along with the specific extras each vehicle needed. The whole process is running smoothly and the first batch of vehicles is eagerly awaited."
